eceee 2026 Summer Study

The eceee Summer Studies are a cornerstone in our mission to build and support the generation and sharing of evidence-based knowledge on energy efficiency and demand reduction.

Since the first traditional eceee Summer Study was held in 1993, this biennial, interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral conference has developed into the most important energy efficiency event in Europe. It is here the trends of our future policies can be spotted first.

The Summer Studies are the backbone of eceee's ambition to deliver comprehensive evidence-based information on all aspects of energy efficiency. The Summer Study offers a mix of quality peer-reviewed paper presentations (see eceee's proceedings library), informal sessions set up by participants on the spot, inspiring keynotes and just plain round-the-clock networking. All is fuelled by the energy of hundreds of participants who are passionate about energy efficiency and want to learn and share experiences

The Summer Study lasts for five days and eceee offers the conference as a five-day, full-board package.  Everyone you meet will be passionate about energy efficiency and discussions take place around the clock.

The event offers sector-wide coverage

Just like in 2024, the 2026 Summer Study will continue to cover the broad range of topics from energy consumption and behaviour, over policy & evaluation, to local energy planning, transportation, buildings, appliance and product policy, and industry.

Whom will you meet?

Participating in the Summer Study is great for networking, regardless if you are looking for clients, need an intensive course in the subject, need to discuss a project or are about to recruit qualified staff in a sector where demand for competent experts is greater than the supply.

Here, about 400 participants from industry, energy suppliers, governments, research, consulting, and the NGO sector meet to formulate tomorrow’s energy policies.

Paper revision for a scientific journal

The panel leaders and a scientific committee will select the best abstracts and offer authors a possibility have the paper reviewed for publication in a scientific journal (title to be announced later). Read more here(länk till annan sida, som behandlar fler detaljer):

New platform – quick scopus indexing and introducing DOIs

Peer-reviewed papers accepted for publication in the eceee Summer Study proceedings will be indexed in Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Environmental impact of our Summer Studies

eceee is acutely aware of the fact that an in-person event has an environmental impact in terms of travel, venue and food. However, we believe it is important to meet in person. We also believe that our event is one of the best events on energy efficiency, long enough, and held relatively seldom, and thereby justifies the travel. The event takes place about one hour from Paris, and this allows most participants to travel by train or other low-carbon modes of transportation.
